As an educator, I believe...

​In encouraging my students to hold awareness of systemic injustices (and identify how they are present in texts we devise or analyze).

In using trauma-informed, consent based language to communicate inside (and outside) of rehearsals/classrooms.

In regularly revising and scanning my teaching practices for implicit bias, harmful methods, and dated techniques that uphold white supremacy.

​

In advocating for people of color, members of the LGBTQ+ community, members of the disabled community, and women both onstage and off.

​

In making my activities and productions accessible, educational, and tailored to the interests of my students.

​

In maintaining a student mentality; the best teachers are always learning.
